Our 2024 oral surgery skills course is a collaboration between NEXUS mentors Dr Jonathan Du Toit, (specialist periodontist) & Dr Fadi Titinchi, (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon). The course covers fundamental oral surgery principles & aims to improve dentists’ everyday oral surgery skills. The main topics covered & hands-on exercises (on a pig jaw model) include:
- Low-trauma surgical extraction
- Oral mucosal flap management
- Oro-antral communication (OAC) management
- TMJ myofacial pain & dysfunction management
- Microsurgical skills & instrumentation
- Suturing techniques
8 CPD points + 1 ethics CPD point
Certificate available after passing the short exam / assessment.
