The Introduction to Fundamentals of Implant Dentistry Course is a collaboration between NEXUS mentors Dr Jennifer Julyan, (prosthodontist) & Dr Jonathan Du Toit, (periodontist). This course delves into the crucial yet often overlooked fundamentals that make a dentist competent in making implant dentistry treatment decisions for their patients.
Designed for both inexperienced & experienced dentists, this course is essential for building a strong foundation in implant dentistry. It covers fundamental concepts such as:
- Knowing the vast variety of dental implants available, their componentry, abutments, tooling, etc.
- Understanding how to approach the missing tooth patient, the necessary diagnostic aids, how to diagnose & select & plan implant treatment cases
- How to work with the diagnostic aids; study casts, patient photos, oral scan, CBCT scans, etc.
- And how to take good analog impressions for single implant crown cases (both standard & customized)
- Hands-on exercises to reinforce all the lectured theory knowledge
